    Description

    DOVE PIGEON SPARROW BIRD ALABASTER ONYX SOAPSTONE MARBLE STONE FIGURINE VTG 3 INCH GRAY WHITE
    This is a figurine of a bird, possibly a dove, pigeon or sparrow.  It is sculpted or carved out of an unknown stone, perhaps onyx, alabaster, soapstone or marble. The stone is mostly whitish colored on the front with specks of gray in it.  There are 2 dark grey veins running through the stone on the back, belly and claw areas.  The color blends out in white to the tail area.
    There are chalky-looking marks on all the carved edges.
    There are dark inclusions  all over the white areas.
    It does work.
    There are a few marks on it but pretty clean looking.
    The underside of the tail  and the right-hand claw are chipped.  The beak feels a little rough but does not appear to be chipped.
    The figurine is about 3 inches long x about 2 1/2 inches tall x about 2 inches wide and weighs about 3.9 ounces.
